Lauren’s Lavender Farm
Located 15kms from Taumarunui on the historic “Forgotten World Highway”, Lauren’s Lavender lies adjacent to the mighty Whanganui River and offers the magical, peaceful tranquil surroundings of lavender fields, farm land and bush.
Lauren’s Lavender is a family owned business growing around 8,000 lavender plants that reach full bloom from the end of December until early March. The café has a wide selection of slices, cakes, biscuits and savouries with delicious espresso coffee, tea or cold drinks. They also offer an array of art pieces from local artists and these feature a number of topics including their own lavender in full bloom. You can sit back and relax on the deck overlooking the lavender fields or the beautiful Whanganui River. There is a shop on site offering a wide selection of their own unique lavender products.
Lauren’s Lavender Farm is a popular stop off for those travelling the Forgotten World Highway between Taumarunui and Stratford but can also be reached by canoeers and kayakers travelling the Whanganui River via a track from the riverside.
